I met up with Sarah and Josh in their home to photograph their engagement photos and it was absolutely amazing. This is what I like to call a lifestyle photography session. A couple in their own element, just interacting the way they always do… but with me there to capture it with my camera!

Lifestyle Engagement Photography

I loved getting to know this bride and groom to be during their lifestyle engagement session. While I was there, we did photos of things that Sarah and Josh like to do on a normal basis. Josh brings Sarah coffee in the mornings, they read books together, and hang out and make some drinks!

I love the way that these photos turned out. They really feel like a day in the life of Josh and Sarah! This lovely couple is just so at ease with each other. The love they have is easy to document because of the way they interact. There’s affection in every glance and happiness in every smile. Plus, having an engagement session at home is an easy way to feel relaxed with the camera. Of course, it’s easy to feel relaxed when you’re drinking coffee in your pajamas in bed! I loved how laid back and relaxed these photos turned out.

Sarah and Josh have a lovely home, so it was easy to get a lot of different backdrops for their photos. I loved photographing them on the gleaming hardwood in the hallway. It was such an interesting shot. But any photo of these two was sweet! They’re just so happy together. We also took pictures outside on their balcony for a more urban look. Later, I followed Sarah and Josh as they strolled down their tree-lined street. It was such beautiful weather for engagement photography!

While I was there… I got a sneak peek at one of their reception decorating projects. They spray-painted tiny dinosaurs with shimmering gold paint. These dinosaurs will be making an appearance soon at their upcoming Carnegie Museum wedding reception!

Sarah and Josh, thank you for inviting me into your home and into your lives. I had such an awesome time photographing this in-home lifestyle engagement session and I absolutely can’t wait to be your wedding photographer for your wedding at the Carnegie Museum!
