A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to attend a 3 day photography conference/workshop called “After Dark Education”. If you follow my blog at all, you may know that I LOVE workshops and conferences and try to go to at least one every year to talk shop and learn from the industries leading photographers and business owners alike. This year I had been able to attend two! I went to Imaging USA in Atlanta which you can read about here, and New Orleans Imaging the year before here.
Anyway – After Dark Education is very different from the other great workshops and conferences I have been to. The classes were on a much smaller scale which gave me the chance to talk to some of the photographers who were mentoring one-on-one. (which btw is AWESOME.) I focused on a few key things for this upcoming wedding season, and I know with just the information I was able to ascertain from the lightroom class alone – it was worth the entire trip. Not to mention the shooting classes where we got to do some hands on photography set up by some awesome-sauce photographers!
Im going to share some images I took while there in the classes and share some iPhoneography as well.
Up first are some STELLAR shots from my iPhone. ( I joke – they are NOT stellar. Haha!) Just a few personal photos of me and my photog friends having a blast being tourists.
And now some shots from the workshops! All of these images (behind the scenes ones and the like are posed by the mentor in charge and not myself – I was focusing on learning some different techniques and using extra lighting!)
^^^^^^ The icelight! One of my new lighting tools for this year. So excited to bust it out and have people ask why I have a light-saber!
^^ Bahaha – Don’t you love the clips because her dress was to big?!
^ The AWESOME Damon Tucci – the mentor for the shoot and AWESOME photographer.
^ Behind the scenes! 🙂
All I can say is I am READY and eager to get into the wedding season and I can not WAIT to sign up for my next educational conference. 🙂
See ya later St. Louis! It was FUN. <3
